WMS 2025: From Craft to Legacy

WMS 2025: From Craft to Legacy

On March 29, 2025, the maiden edition of the Women Makers Series (WMS) Conference came to life under the theme “From Craft to Legacy: Women Building Tomorrow.” Hosted at The Maradiva, Twin Waters, Lekki, the conference marked a major milestone in the Women Makers journey—bringing together women across creative, business, and cultural sectors for a day of learning, reflection, and connection.

WMS 2025 was built as more than a one-day event. It was intentionally designed as a platform where women could gain practical skills, access support systems, and begin shaping sustainable pathways from passion to purpose.

Learning Grounded in Practice and Lived Experience

The conference program featured a mix of business assistance sessions, panel conversations, batik-making workshops, and art therapy experiences, creating space for both professional development and personal wellbeing.

Sessions were led by a powerful lineup of women whose work spans entrepreneurship, finance, wellness, fashion, storytelling, and creative leadership. Facilitators and speakers included Ify Mogekwu, Nanfe Jemimah Kefas-Oyeleke, Orode Meiyiwa Uduaghan, Sheila Ojei, Iniabasi Leye, Omotade Alalade, Omoyeni Disu Olanrewaju, Tomie Balogun, Renah Osiemi, Oluwayemisi Ode, Elohor Olumide-Awe, Elizabeth Idoko-Okogun, and Wuraola Odunsi.

Each session drew from real-world experience—offering participants insights they could immediately apply to their businesses, creative practices, and personal growth journeys.

Space for Wellness, Reflection, and Support

A key feature of WMS 2025 was its holistic approach. The Art Therapy sessions provided participants with space to pause, reflect, and process creatively, reinforcing the importance of emotional wellbeing in long-term success.

Meanwhile, the Business Assistance Room offered hands-on guidance for women navigating entrepreneurship—addressing questions around structure, sustainability, funding, and growth. These sessions emphasized that building a legacy requires both creativity and strategy.

Conversations That Connected Community

The panel sessions, moderated by Lily Adimefe, encouraged honest dialogue around visibility, resilience, and the realities of building as women in creative and business spaces. The day was hosted by Mimi Onalaja, whose presence helped anchor the event with warmth, clarity, and flow.

Beyond the sessions themselves, WMS 2025 fostered genuine connection—between participants, facilitators, and partners—creating a shared sense of purpose and collective momentum.

Powered by Partnership

The success of WMS 2025 was made possible through the support of partners and collaborators committed to women-led impact. Partners and supporters included Grid & Nodes Africa, Anthera, Eirini, the British Council, Zedcrest, Herconomy, Infinix, Ankle Films, Degzy Films, and Amstel Malta, whose contributions helped bring the vision of the conference to life.

Looking Forward

WMS 2025 stands as proof that when women are given the space, tools, and support to create, they don’t just build businesses—they build legacies. The conference laid a strong foundation for future editions of the Women Makers Series and reaffirmed the power of community-driven growth.

As Women Makers continues to evolve, the 2025 conference remains a defining moment—one that reflects what is possible when women come together to learn, create, and shape the future on their own terms.
